Janice Huang
Janice Huang was a WIN-funded USRI student in 2025. During her internship, Janice investigated the developmental trajectory of the Congruency Sequence Effect (CSE), a marker of adaptive cognitive control. She employed a two-step Bayesian ANOVA approach: first testing whether the underlying CSE pattern varies across development from childhood to adolescence to early adulthood, and then quantifying CSE magnitude within each age group to examine differences among the three developmental groups.
"WIN gave me an invaluable opportunity to immerse myself in Bayesian statistics, fMRI analysis, and scientific poster design. Through Dr. Bruce's mentorship, self-directed study, and support from the graduate students in the WIRB building, I discovered my love for tackling research questions through literature, gained technical coding abilities, and strengthened my scientific communication skills." - Janice Huang
